Today I ran a nice 5K.  I can tellt hat my times are getting better and I Am getting into better shape.  The only thing I need to do now is to keep my strength.  on the 10th (tomorrow).  I am going to do a full body workout at the gym.  IT should help with my strenght and also my physique.  ;)   That is about it for me.  I am going to pick it up this weekend and run about 50k.  10 on friday and 10 on saturday.  Sunday is going to be my long run again.  I am going to run the 20K again.  I want to try to put in some long runs once every week.  It is rather crazy but I am crazy. ;)

Today was a good day at practice. Yesterday I woke up at about 5:15 and was feeling very under the weather so I didn’t go into run at 6 am. I rested all day yesterday and then was ready to come back today. We ran repeat 1000m’s, which can get pretty hectic. I miss my monkey man more than I ever thought possible, but I try and keep extremely busy to make the time go by fast:) Here is a re-cap of my Wednesday:

Well today was the longest run I have ever had.  I ran 20 Km.  I checked the distance on a gps map afterwards and it said that I had run 22.  I was like WHooooooooooaaaaaaa!  I felt good during the first 10 K but my legs started to hurt after that.  I am not used to running so much and I am def. not used to running on a road that much.  I felt good over all but today I am a little sore.  Monday is going to be an off day.  I am starting to get some distance in each week with is nice.

Just to say I am really proud of August for getting out and accomplishing this long of a run on his own without any outside motivation:)  I ran 3o minutes today with a girl from my track team.  It was nice to get out on a Sunday and go for a decent run, but I am truly overshadowed by August’s feat:) GO BABE!!!

Got up and ran an 8 K today.  That was probably the highlight of my day.  The sun was shining and everything was fine – ole hunky dory!

04.04.08

Brrrrr. . . . it was cold this morning at 6 am, but I just did an easy 35 minute run for my pre-meet. It was dark at first, but the sun started to rise as we were doing starts out on the track. Tomorrow I will be running the 1500m and the 800m races. Sixty-two girls are running in just the 1500m. It is going to be a very long day. I am excited to run especially since the weather will be nice (60 degrees and sunny). Today August and I are making dinner together (on skype) and I’m excited about that! Other than that it was a pretty easy exercise day. I also did some rope stretching and rolled out my hamstrings, quads, and IT band. 8 out 10. . .because I’m excited about tomorrow:)

Today I ran a 10 k ..  I used 58 minutes during my run.  The end part of it was up hill.  My legs started to burn from the lactic acid but I got over it quickly.  The run was nice but my knees started to hurt on the way back.  This could be due to running on the road all the time.  So I have to watch myself.

I had an early morning practice today.  The cool air hit me as soon as I walked out of my apartment and I knew it was going to be struggle to get through practice.  Anyways I got there to see the workout posted on the wall, hoping it would be about 5.5 miles total, but it was 7.5.  Once I started to roll-out and warm-up I felt a little more awake and ready to go.  The run starts.  It is cold and very dark at 6 am in the morning (well at least this morning).  After the 1.5 mile warm-up jaunt we head into hill charges (6) and then it’s onto the track for a 3200m.  Once the 3200m is finished then it’s 2 more miles out on the road.  By this time I’m definitely warmed up and the sun is starting to shine which brings a smile to my face:)  I also have been thinking about August the whole run:):):) this makes me smile always.  It is already April and I hope the time will continue to move fast.  Looking forward to Leadville:)

Today I went out to really start training for the marathon. I ran a 10 k . The first 5 K were up the side of a mountain which I probably went up about 250meters. It was great running uphill. I kept a good pace. On the way down I experienced some discomfort in my chest and neck. It must have been because I was running on a road. If you click on the link below you can see the run and the distance in a map view.

Today was a very heavy day for me.  I did a combination of track and road workout with the team.  It was a pretty nice day out:)  The first day in a while that I’ve been able to wear shorts and a t-shirt.  I was tight still from Monday’s workout, but I pulled through.  Here’s in an overview:

4.3.08

6 out of 10. . .definitely tight.

1.5 mile warm-up, 6x100m

1x400m, 12x200m, 1x400m

5x100m strides

4.5 mile cool-down run

Total Miles:  9.5

4.1.08

Today I ran 5.35 miles. It was broken up into three parts. 1.25 mile warm-up, 4x100m, 3.1 mile loop, 800m on the track, and then 5x100m strides to finish. It was really windy and cold this morning. The practice went by fast though and that was good. I kept yawning this morning and it was pretty hard to get through, but I kept at it:) I also ordered these new necklaces that are supposed to balance out your body with ions etc. I am not sure, but Aug read about them so I ordered them today for us. We’ll see if they make a difference in our training:)

This is the site for the necklaces and here is a picture.

Today I ran a nice 5 K.  It was a nice run.  I ran it in 22 minutes which is not a horrible pace but alright.  I ran a smaller distance today because I am going to run a longer one tomorrow.  I did alright but I did was not totally happy.  I let Sarah put hers up first this time ;) hehe

Yesterday I climbed the mountain Halsa.  It is about 300 meters of climbing and it only took me 15 minutes.  I was pretty tired from the day before but I am hitting the trail later today.  After the workout I did some band work on my chest and arms.  That is really all I did.

I am currently wondering if my legs will actually work when I get out of bed tomorrow. My workout today was hard. It was hard in that feels good kind of way, but definintely hard. It was warm today around 60 degrees F with some wind. It was a hard day because I was missing Augie a lot and wishing he could be running with me, but I am just looking forward to when we will be together this summer:) Here is what my workout looked like today:

3.31.08

6 out of 10. . .really tight today. . ouch.

1.25 mile warm-up, 6x100m, 1x400m

5x1000m, 5x150m

5x100m strides, 3.5 mile cool-down

Mobility, conditioning, core, stretching

Total Miles: 9.25 (14.8 K)

03.30.08

Today I went out and ran a 11.6 k. I ran it in 59 minutes. The head wind on the way there must have been from hell. It was bad. Sometimes I would get blown to the side of the road. All I could think about was, “I hope there is no head wind in the marathon because that would absolutely suck.” The first 6 K i ran it in 33:22 and on the way back I ran it in 26:12. So the head wind did play a huge role in the run. I got a little help on the way back with the wind at my back. This is what my route looked like.

Today I went on a very short shake out run after yesterday’s competition.  I was very tight from jumping the barriers.  I did about 20 minutes easy out by my house back in my hometown.  It was a really good Sunday because I got to spend time with my family and also with Augie’s family:):):)  How about that 12K ???. . . . WOW. . .Way to go Augie:) MUAH.

03.29.09

Today I just lifted upper body.  Here is the workout I did:

bicep curles:  3 set 10

tricep pushdowns:  3 set 10

flies:  3 set of 10

bench press    3 set of ten

decline bench 3 set of ten

delta reverse 3 set of ten

thats about it.

Today I had my first official track meet of the outdoor season.  It was a little chilly, but sunny so that made it a little more bearable.  I ran the 3000m steeplechase, which is seven and a half laps over barriers and one water barrier.  It was my second time running the race and I did pretty good.  I won the event for the meet and beat my old time by about 22 seconds.  I ran it in 11:44.xx which is a decent starting point for the season.  I hope to maybe get close to eleven minutes by the end of the season:)  I wish that Augie could’ve been there:):):)  He is turning into a true runner man and I think it’s awesome.  Oh and earlier this week in one of my classes I got a little discouraged about the marathon.  A girl that sits in front of me is from Colorado and she said that when she went to Leadville she had a hard time with the altitude.  She was a cross country runner in high school that trained at 7,000ft and Leadville is at 10,000ft to start, not to mention the huge climb we’ll be doing during the marathon.  I know we can finish it, but I want us to both feel proud about not only that but also the effort we give.  Looking forward to it, but not more than I am just looking forward to being with Augie again:)!!!
